There is Bijaasan Devi ( Mahankali’s Avatar) here in Sulkanpur. We got ready and drove up the hill to the temple. We could drive all the way to the top and did not have to climb any steps. We reached with in 15 minutes. It was around 8:30 am. There was no one at the temple. Even the shops that line the walkway had not opened fully. Only 3-4 shop were just opening. We walked right o to the temple and had good darshan. No one was hurrying us to move on. The place was amazingly clean inside and outside. Very well maintained. There were clear signs all over the place not to give any money to any workers or priests. All donations to be put in the Hundi. And we could get a receipt if we wanted. We walked around the place for sometime. The weather was perfect. Slight chill in the air. As we walked back to the car we had some milk, ice cream and Rajgira Laddoo. Second breakfast. Before we came to the temple we had our usual Poha, Jelebi and Tea (Less sugar). Even if we say less sugar or very little sugar the Tea is too sweet. We came back to the hotel, packed our bags and started driving to Jabalpur. Slowly scenery is changing. We are seeing less farmland and more rocky terrain with mountains in the distance. Farmers in this part of Madhya Pradesh are not as affluent as on the western side of the state. There is less population as well. We drove through some hilly area. We stopped for lunch at a roadside Dhaba. Most places menu is set. Roti Subjji Daal Rice. Yogurt is hit or miss. Today we did not get any yogurt at lunch. Food is alway hot and taste is good. We finished and started driving. Well Sunilji was driving. I took a nice long nap. When I woke up it was almost Tea time and we were close to our destination. We stopped in one ashram to check for availability and condition of the place. We decided to find a hotel. We booked room in New Adarsh Hotel near Bhedaghaat. It was a short walk to the Ghaat. Going down the steps we looked at shops lined on both sides. The Narmada River curves at this point and is flanked on both banks with tall Marble rocks. A beautiful spot. We did Narmada Aarti at the Ghaat around 5:45 pm. The Aarti is done every evening after Sunset. Tomorrow is our 38th wedding anniversary. This is a perfect spot to complete 38 years. We came back to the hotel had a quick dinner and settled in for the night. Weather is getting colder. We managed 5.7 kms today.
