Got up at 6:30 am. Got hot water for bath and how. There is a plug point in the bathroom with two wires inserted in the socket. The other end has two large nails attached to a metal plate. The nails are submerged in plastic bucket full of water and switch is turned on. In 10-15 minutes you have hot water. 😳. I made sure I did not go anywhere close to the socket. The other people had decided to stay longer and they asked us as well to stay for lunch and then go. We politely declined.
Got ready and Drove off to get out of town so I can start walking. We had breakfast before we left the town. I started walking and soon we came to highway. I walked for a short distance and decided I would like to get to smaller streets for walking. We drove for half an hour and reached Barman Ghat. It’s a lovely place on the Narmada Bank. The river is surrounded by different rocks in this place. They look more like Granite but could be black Marble. There is no place to stay. I stayed for some time and took pictures. We had to drive out to the highway again. By this time it was lunch time. We stopped at Hotel Prince Dhaba for lunch. After eating I gave him money to pay and was waiting for change. He asked us where are we from and what we were doing. The moment he found out that we are doing Parikrama he returned the money saying they don’t take any money from Parikramavasis.
We finally came to smaller roads and resumed my walk. Shortly after starting the walk I came to a spot where they were laying down new road. There are no barriers or signs. Vehicles continue to drive by in both directions as the work goes on. The big machines do their work and the vehicles find a way to get around. I came to a tent where the workers rest and have their food. I was asked to have lunch. I said I just had lunch few minutes earlier. They did not let me go without having some Tea. I took video and pictures before I contacted on the walk.
By 3:15 pm I was feeling tired so got back in the car and continued our search for an ashram to stay. We drove for 45 minutes and came to Bahoni village. At the intersection of the main road and the road we came on we found Shree Dev Radha Krishna Mandir. We enquired if we could stay there and Maharaj said yes. The place is really well done. Sleeping arrangement is in the open hall next to the Garbha Gruha. There is a lovely lake behind the Mandir. The Temple has been renovated but the original temple was about 300 years old. The current temple is about 14 year old. The Punditji stays in a room Next to the hall. The Sunset was really beautiful over the lake. Pundit Jamna Prasad Bhargav runs this temple. He has been here for since the temple was reconstructed. Initially he was to stay till they find a priest but now he says he can not be away for more than a day or two. He must be around 70 years old. He took such good care of us. Dinner was running late. He kept calling his family members to hurry up and bring the food. It is his granddaughter’s birthday and they are making Daal Baati. Someone came to take him to the party and Punditji told him no I can not go until I feed the Parikramavasis. The gentleman went and got hot food and Punditji served us then only he went. When he came back he told us that there were around 300 people at the party. Food was delicious as usual. We ate and went to sleep by 9:00 pm.
