Sunday, December 11, 2022. Shree Krishna Palace, Sanawad to Shree Lakshmi Narayan Mandir, Omkareshwar

I woke up to noises in the street. Room is overlooking a local market and bus stand. I ordered breakfast and Tea. I was ready by 10:00 am and waited for Baiju to come from Bangalore. We are 13 kms. Away from Omkareshwar.

Once Baiju gets here we will decide whether to spend the rest of the day here or walk to Omkareshwar today. I finished packing just in case we walk. Baiju came around Noon. He was ready to walk. We finished lunch and started walking around 2:00 pm.

Geetanjali was surprised that Baiju who woke up at 3am got off the plane and started walking. Baiju’s answer was that “his shoes were made for walking, and that’s just what they do…”.

Walk was fairly easy. The excitement of reaching our goal put an extra bounce in our steps. We even found a Kirana store where they had cold Sprite. One last one before we finish. Many places had unplugged the fridge in mid November since winter had started. One last Sprite was enjoyable. We reached the sign welcoming us to Omkareshwar around 4:30 pm. The city was about one kilometer from here.

We took pictures at the sign and felt elated at accomplishing our goal. As we got closer to the hotel we were going to stay Pandit Sandeepji stopped us on the road and invited us to stay in his ashram (Lakshmi Narayan Mandir) located near the entrance to the Omkareshwar bridge. We said ok. It was great timing since the hotel was fully booked. We got settled in the room in the ashram. We felt completely relaxed. We had finally finished our Parikrama. We walked out and found a dinner place. We ordered too much food. But not to worry, we found one Sadhu ready to eat what ever came his was. We felt good that the food we ordered will not go to waste. We got the room and went to sleep. Today we walked 15.7 kms
