Morning we had two Teas while we got ready in Soniji’s house. We quickly packed and emptied the classroom as school was starting at 8:00 am. We went to the market and had Poha Jelebi and Tea. We started walking after breakfast. We had gone to the next village maybe 2 kms away and were invited for Poha, Jelebi and Tea. The shopkeeper was so eager to serve we could not say no. We ate and continued the walk. Not even a kilometer away we got another invite for Tea, Poha and Jelebi. This time we asked for one plate to share. We thought that was it for the morning, but guess what? Another shopkeeper came running to give us Tea. We said we just had some. He said to give him an opportunity to serve. We said we can have water. After we drank the water he gave us a small candy each. Are you counting how many Teas so far!!! We were walking on the road avoiding traffic. We reached Satwas town by 11:30 am. Sunilji was already here looking for lunch place. We passed a new housing development area. Suddenly one gentleman came out to the road to i us for…,yes Tea. We went in. They were selling plots. Roads were in but utility lines were yet to be installed. After the usual talk they sent for Tea and Samosas. We asked Sunilji to join us. They said that there is good restaurant where we can have lunch. Then they said but we can make Daal Baati right here. Please stay for lunch. By this time the Samosas came with Jelebi. No Tea. They were talking amongst themselves saying we have to buy lunch for these people. Then again they asked us to stay for Daal Baati. Well we stayed and had lunch there. By the time we left it was 2.5 hours had passed. We had walked about 14kms. We wanted to Walk till 4:00 pm. We left at 2:30 pm and walked. As we crossed the town market I noticed fruit carts and thought to myself that we have not had any apples on our walk. As we walked out of the town we were seeing farms on either side of the road. We would Stop to talk to a farmer in the field to find out what he is planting. In This area most of them are planting Wheat. One field we passed he was planting Gilki (Indian variety of Zucchini). Around 3:45 we looked to see how much we had walked. We had finished 20 kms. But we thought we would walk some more. Just then one farmer came out of his house to call us for Tea. We have been getting Afternoon Tea around this time almost everyday. We stopped went into his house. The house was large with big courtyard in the front. He must be doing well. It’s a joint family with two brothers and their families. He got us Tea with some fruit slices – Apple and Guava. Record number of Teas today. We finished and decided to walk for some more time. Sunilji stayed back to chat with the family. As we were walking one gentleman on a motorcycle stopped and asked us where we plan to stay for the night. We said we are planning to go to Nemavar. He told us about another ashram in Neveda. We took the information and continued walking. Around 5:00 pm we got in the car and drove to Nemavar. The Neveda ashram was out of the way so we skipped it. We asked for ashrams in Nemavar. One did not look too good and the other one was full. We took two rooms in Hotel Gauri Palace. Settled in and had dinner in small restaurant next door and went to sleep. Today we walked 23.4 kms.
